This poem was generated from images I gleaned while visiting the Pacific shore of Costa Rica at the end of January. Photo was taken in a natural sea cave at one of the many beautiful beaches in Uvita, Puntarenas Province.
After many years teaching writing with teens and then preparing new teachers, Carol Mikoda is now retired and writing much more poetry. Her work has appeared in New Feathers Anthology, Grief Becomes You, Capsule Stories, HOLYFLEA!, Children, Churches, & Daddies, and Acta Victoriana; she also has a chapbook, While You Wait, published in 2021. Her newest chapbook, Wind and Water, Leaf and Lake, will be released by Finishing Line Press in October 2023. She lives with her partner near Seneca Lake in upstate New York where she writes, walks, skis, sails, photographs clouds or treetops, and makes music.
